Our team

Poremma works with many people around the world, but four  key people help coordinate our efforts. Here is a brief introduction to them:

Didier Reza
Member of the Board

When I realised how difficult it was for me to find an organisation that I would like to support, the Poremma Fundación idea was born.

I wanted to support people, human beings and, when I was asked to support organisations, I had the impression that it was approached the wrong way. Having a background in marketing it was difficult for me to be enthusiastic about what I might have perceived as a sales speech.

After searching for a while, I finally came in contact with something different: passionate people using their time to help other human beings. It was an act of solidarity. I immediately felt lucky to meet these kinds of people. It was real privilege to hear them describe what they were doing, and to actually see the result.

I realised we were all volunteers wanting to help, each in their own way and capacity. I was experiencing something real and human, that is the essence and reality of our Foundation.

I was impressed by the clarity and dedication that these people brought to what they were doing - it felt like a privilege for us to support those actions. I had the opportunity to whiteness, first hand, what they were doing, it was so clear. To this day, I am still amazed of what a little money can achieve.

They key is making sure that we select the right projects, ensuring we trust the right people.

Member of the Board

Since 2015 I have been active in supporting people on the move, initially in my hometown in Hamburg.

In 2016 I founded a medical NGO in Greece, starting with Thessaloniki; and in 2017 we also opened a project in Patras, Athens and in Lesvos. Later, in 2020, we opened another in Bosnia and Serbia.

Since 2022 I am part of the NGO No Border Medics. In September 2022 we opened another section in Dunkirk, we understood that the need was so great, now the area has become a hotspot.

When I was asked to join the Poremma Foundation, I felt honoured. The Foundation stands for humanitarian aid, it is flexible and transparent in its support of projects, initiatives that help people in need and on the move.

The challenge of finding these projects is exciting, and with our team I am sure we will succeed.

When I first heard about the Poremma Foundation, I found in its intent the spirit and essence that led me to choose my life and career path years ago.

I have been working in the world of humanitarian cooperation for 7 years, and I have been able to observe organisations of all sizes working and interacting with people on the move from different countries.

In this Foundation I find the essence of solidarity, the feeling that drives a person to help another voluntarily. My experience has taught me that, as a European citizen, I have privileges that I had never understood before, but also that if they are not shared, they are devoid of meaning and real value.

Being useful to someone else is invaluable, it makes you complete, it makes you feel good. Altruism helps you to love yourself. The search for extraordinary people who do extraordinary things is an exciting challenge. That is why I believe in the Foundation's mission.

Unfortunately, the world of international cooperation is all too often made up of complicated bureaucratic procedures to obtain economic support. This world is plagued by the need to of being visible and appearing fascinating in the eyes of donors. The danger is that attention will be diverted from real solidarity actions to other things.

This is why Poremma is so different: the focus is solely on the project and its protagonists. For me, it is a return to the roots.
